Looking for a sport to play in college? Want to represent USC against other universities? Looking for a way to keep in shape and compete at a high level? Come play ultimate.
USC ultimate is an up-and-coming program. For the past two years we have been growing the team, adding coaches, getting more dedicated, and improving our end of the year finish. We practice 2-3 times a week and travel to 3-5 weekend tournaments per semester. In the past, we’ve gone to Las Vegas, San Diego, Stanford, Santa Barbara, Irvine, Long Beach, San Louis Obispo, and Savannah, GA.
Interested in playing with us? We’re always looking for new athletes to join our team. Just come on out to a practice or send us an email at ultimate@usc.edu for more information. You should also sign up for our IM league.
Have more questions? Below are some common ones.
What is ultimate anyway?
Check out this page from the Ultimate Players Association, which tells you all about the sport and how it’s played.
What if I’ve never played ultimate before?
Don’t worry! Most people haven’t played before they get to college. We’ll teach you everything you need to know. Most people who have played other sports in high school tend to pick things up pretty quickly. And if you have played? All the better; we’ll teach you how to improve and build on what you already know.
What should I bring to practice?
Bring football or soccer cleats, a white and a dark-colored jersey, and water. That’s all you’ll need.
Do I have to commit to the whole year right now?
We encourage everyone to come out to practice and give ultimate a try. Coming to practice isn’t a promise to play the whole year, but we bet you’ll want to once you see what it’s like.
